More locals news and events from the Hampshire area from Dibben and Dibben as bookworms from an Alresford school got the chance to meet the winning author of the Hampshire Book Award. Five students from Perins School met up with Craig Simpson who took part in a question and answer session and gave a talk about his book 'Dogfight'.

Linda Sheppard, library manager at Perins, said: "It's really good that the students have had the chance to meet Craig Simpson. They enjoyed being involved in the Hampshire Book Award and meeting the author they voted for seems a fitting reward for their hard work."

Last summer they voted his book as the best for enjoyment, engagement and enrichment out of a short list of six books. The Hampshire Book Award is organised annually by the School Library Service.
